This benefit is payable when the parent or guardian who pays the school fees, dies as a result of an accident. We will pay the student’s school fees. In order to claim this benefit, we require a copy of the death certificate. Building fees, uniforms and book expenses are not eligible for reimbursement.
Please note: Catholic Church Insurance is a General Insurer. For any medical services which attract a Medicare Rebate, CCI is prohibited from paying any benefit including the Medicare Gap. Under section 126 of the Health Insurance Act 1973, General Insurers are prohibited from providing any cover where a Medicare benefit is payable including the Medicare Gap. Services provided by a Doctor, Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Pathologist and Radiologist that attract a Medicare Item Number, are not covered under the Student Care policy.

This benefit is available as a daily allowance when an injured student must travel more than 50 kms from home to seek medical treatment by a qualified medical practitioner.
This benefit does not apply to the return trip home and the benefit is limited to $2,000 per accident, per person. For more information, you can view the policy here.
This benefit is available as a daily allowance of $35 when student is confined as a patient in a hospital for more than 3 consecutive days. In order to claim this benefit, we require a certificate from a qualified medical practitioner outlining the period of hospitalisation. The maximum allowance is $3,500 per accident, per person. This benefit is applicable when domestic nursing assistance is required in the home of an injured student as the result of bodily injury. This benefit of $35 per day is only payable when the student is confined to home for more than 3 consecutive days. In order to claim this benefit, we require a certificate from a qualified medical practitioner outlining the need for domestic nursing assistance. This benefit is payable for any clothing lost or damaged as a result of an accident where medical treatment was administered by a qualified medical practitioner. The maximum allowance for this benefit is $500. For more information, you can view the policy here.
This benefit is applicable when a member of the student's immediate family is accommodated more than 100 kms from home while the injured student is in hospital. To claim this benefit, please ensure you attach a copy of the tax invoice from the accommodation, as well as a document from the hospital confirming the period of time the student was in hospital. This benefit allows for $75 per day, with a limit of $3,500 per accident, per person. For more information, you can view the policy here.
This benefit applies if the nominated student suffers bodily injury as the result of an accident, or witnesses an accident. CCI will refund the cost of professional counselling fees. In order to claim this benefit, we require a certificate from a qualified medical practitioner outlining the recommendation for professional counselling. This applies to the cost of any necessary emergency transport incurred as the result of bodily injury. Emergency transport is limited to $7,500 per accident, per person. For more information, you can view the policy here.
This benefit relates to the cost of any home tuition incurred if the nominated student is unable to attend school for more than 5 consecutive days because of bodily injury. A medical certificate is required detailing the period of time the student was absent. Tuition fees are limited to $2,500 per accident, per person. For more information, you can view the policy here.
