What does employment practices liability insurance do?
Employment Practices Liability Insurance in action
After having her position terminated for wilful misconduct, a teacher files a formal complaint with the Fair Work Commission alleging unfair dismissal.
Because her former employer has Employment Practices Liability Insurance, CCI arranges legal representation for the teacher's employer in mediation at the Commission.
It is determined the teacher was unfairly dismissed and CCI appoints representatives to negotiate with the teacher on behalf of, and in consultation with, the school.
A settlement of three months' pay and legal costs of $40,000 are both covered by CCI.
