If you are injured at work, you must:

  • Notify your employer of your injury or illness as soon as practicable
  • Lodge a Workers’ Compensation claim and provide a  Medical Certificate, so you can be paid for medical expenses and time lost because of medical appointments
  • Nominate a treating doctor who agrees to participate in your Return to Work plan
  • Actively participate in your treatment and Return to Work plan
  • Participate in assessments to determine your capacity, rate of recovery and future employment prospects
  • Make a reasonable effort to get back to work
  • Notify your employer within seven days of receiving Workers’ Compensation payments, commencing a new job or starting a business.
  • Provide your employer or CCI with your medical certificates, receipts and accounts for medical treatments
  • Comply with all reasonable requests made by CCI with regard to your claim
