How is liability determined?
When you lodge an application for a claim with your employer, we undertake a thorough review to help determine liability, assess your compensation entitlements and to establish a claims management and rehabilitation strategy.
After receiving a claim, we’ll contact you and your employer within three working days to discuss things such as:
- How you were injured
- Whether you had to take time off as a result of your injury
- Whether there are opportunities to return to work in some capacity.
A provisional liability decision will be made within one week after your claim application. A claim form will be required if:
- Incapacity exceeds 12 weeks or more than $7500 is spent on medical costs
- Provisional liability is not accepted
- If requested by CCI to do so.
