Senior Leadership T​eam

Our Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the development of CCI’s Vision, Strategy and Value Proposition to Clients. It also carries responsibilities for the day-to-day management of CCI’s operations and the implementation of the policies and strategies approved by the board. The team combines decades of experience to provide guidance, make operational decisions, review performance and steer the strategic direction of CCI in order to provide the best risk management and insurance solutions for clients.​

Roberto Scenna
BEC (HONS)

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Roberto Scenna joined CCI as Chief Executive Officer in September 2015. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, management consulting and aviation to CCI having previously held the positions of Managing Director ANZ Private Wealth, Managing Director ANZ Trustees and Managing Director Super Concepts. His portfolio also includes a range of executive director roles on the Boards of ANZ financial advice companies. Rob has a passion for developing strong relationships with customers, building energised and engaged workplaces and developing solutions to enable businesses to directly benefit communities. He is a graduate of the 2013 Leadership Victoria – Williamson Community Leadership Program.

Justin Sebire
B.COM, FCA, MAICD

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

In 2020, CCI appointed Justin as CFO to be responsible for the organisation’s strategy, finance & actuarial, investment management, capital, reinsurance, procurement, and legal and company secretarial services. He gained impressive and globally diverse experience over two decades, across the financial services sector including general, health and life insurance, banking and wealth management. He has worked with leading global brands including Bupa, Suncorp, PwC, Aviva, and AXA in Australia, France, the United Kingdom and Japan. Justin holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Monash University, and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand and a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was formerly a Director for the not-for-profit Rainbow Club Australia who support children with disabilities in learning to swim, and now serves as a Financial Services Accountants Association Board member.

Ross Castle
MBA

EXECUTIVE, INVESTOR RELATIONSHIP

Ross Castle is Executive, Investor Relations with responsibility for managing CCI’s shareholder relationships. Ross joined CCI in 2016 where he was responsible for CCI’s client engagement strategy. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and holds a Master of Business Administration. He is also a graduate of the AICD Company Directors course. In addition to his role with CCI, Ross is a non-executive director of CatholicCare Victoria and of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority.

David Cole

GENERAL MANAGER, UNDERWRITING & PRODUCT

David Cole is General Manager, Underwriting & Product. David made a significant contribution to transforming the organisation’s sales strategy before becoming a member of the Catholic Church Insurance Executive Committee, responsible for Portfolio Underwriting, Client Experience and Product Development, Marketing, and Actuarial Pricing. His decades of international work experience were built by transforming businesses in the insurance, broking and risk management industries. He has worked with some of the largest insurance and reinsurance organisations in the world, and contributes important knowledge to CCI’s risk financing, business development, and revenue growth strategies. David applies an innovative and collaborative approach to leading teams to meet sustainability and efficiency targets.

Sally Stares
BA LAW (HONS), PGCE

GENERAL MANAGER, PEOPLE AND CHANGE

Sally joined CCI in 2006 as a Learning and Development Coordinator before being appointed to Human Resources Manager, and then General Manager, People and Change in 2016. Originally from the UK, Sally relocated to Australia and commenced working in the insurance industry in a variety of roles including claims management, compliance, and training. She is a member of CCI’s Senior Leadership Team and in her current role responsible for HR, Payroll, Building Administration and Change functions. Sally also a Director for CCI Giving which is the organisation’s charitable foundation.

Kathryn Young
B ENG (HONS)

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Kath is the Chief Technology Officer at CCI. She leads a technology team in developing strategic and innovative solutions to build a resilient information technology environment for all CCI stakeholders. Her primary responsibilities for the organisation are transformation, enterprise architecture, data, infrastructure and integrated systems and the CCI project management office. Kathryn designs and oversees technology transformation programs that address key business issues including system modernization, digital and workplace enablement, compliance and data/information management. In her career she has held senior positions for large financial institutions IAG and ANZ Bank, developing digital workplace strategy and systems performance initiatives.

Jeremy Yipp
MAPPFIN, B ENG/COMM

CHIEF RISK OFFICER

As CCI’s Chief Risk Officer, Jeremy provides oversight for CCI’s risk management, compliance, regulatory activity and internal audit. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector supporting companies to meet their strategic, risk and assurance goals. As a member of CCI’s Senior Leadership Team, he identifies critical defence needs and drives deep, cultural organisational development of risk management behaviour. He collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, communicates risk strategy to the Board and regulators, and aligns the company’s Risk Management Framework to meet corporate risk, legal, and regulatory duties through embedded business practices. He is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course. In addition to this leadership position, Jeremy is Chair of CCI Giving and drives the charitable foundation’s objective to support small organisations contributing meaningfully to the welfare of those facing hardship and disadvantage.

Todd Johnson

GENERAL MANAGER, OPERATIONS

Todd Johnson joined CCI in February 2020 and has held roles including General Manager Service Delivery and General Manager Workers Compensation. At the start of 2022, he moved to the position of General Manager Operations. He has more than 20 years of financial services experience in executive roles including operations, technology, strategy, and customer service. He is responsible Workers Compensation Claims, General Insurance Claims, Service Delivery, Service Innovation and Underwriting. Todd is passionate about developing innovative solutions via digital automation and process improvement to improve service to clients. He has held numerous senior positions throughout his career, for companies including Aviva, MLC, ESSSuper and Guild Group.

Tim Farren

GENERAL MANAGER, CLIENT

Tim Farren oversees CCI’s Client Management, CCIAM, Risk Services, and Sales and Distribution. Tim was National Manager, Client formerly and with almost 30 years of sales expertise he has a keen eye for identifying business development opportunities. He has served in roles at Arthur J. Gallagher and Ansvar and brings international insurance acumen across the organisation’s client segments. In addition to his leadership role at CCI, he is now also Deputy Chair of Baptcare which is a not-for-profit residential and community care provider supporting people with disability and other life challenges.
