Important Update: CCI Giving’s Transition and Legacy

We wish to share a crucial update about the future of CCI Giving and our unwavering dedication to supporting vulnerable communities.

Established in 2017, formalising Catholic Church Insurance’s (CCI) commitment to the Australian Catholic community, CCI Giving has proudly distributed over $2.4 million through 283 individual grants to 180 organisations. Our primary focus has always been to empower grassroots initiatives benefitting the most vulnerable segments of our communities.

In light of CCI’s move into runoff and eventual closure, the Directors of CCI Giving recently met to discuss the foundation’s ongoing purpose and legacy. We remain committed to continuing our mission and core objectives, particularly in funding vulnerable areas identified in our small grant program as well as rural and regional mental health initiatives through our partnership with the FRRR.

Considering the evolving situation and the challenges presented by CCI’s closure, Directors have made the difficult decision to transition the remaining corpus to a new sub-fund within the APS Foundation, administered by Australian Philanthropic Services (APS). This transition, scheduled for the end of the financial year, will include standing instructions to the trustee and a specified investment profile.

By taking this step, the essence of CCI Giving will endure, contributing to the support of those communities most in need, ensuring its mission continues in perpetuity. APS, a long-standing partner of CCI Giving, will administer these funds, leveraging their deep understanding of our philanthropic philosophy.

It’s crucial to note that the current partnership with Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) will be honoured, reflecting our dedication to sustaining the positive impact created through this collaboration.

We extend our gratitude for your ongoing support and commitment to the values that CCI Giving represents. The legacy of CCI Giving will persist, and the mission to empower vulnerable communities will thrive through this new phase of impact and philanthropy.
