Your Return to Work program
Your employer is required to prepare a Return to Work plan for you. The program:
- Will describe what they will do to help you return to work
- Is based on the treating doctor’s recommendations with their approval. It will also be coordinated with your Injury Management Plan
- Will de developed in consultation with you (you will also be provided a copy for your records)
If the doctor declares you are able to work, but not in your usual job, your employer must try to find you suitable duties. They could involve:
- Elements of your usual job
- Reduced hours
- Different duties
- Training
Note: You are required to actively participate in your Return to Work plan and to make all reasonable efforts to get back to work.
