When an injury occurs
Arrange appropriate medical treatment for your injured employees immediately and let us know about the injuries as soon as possible or within three days. The sooner you notify us, the sooner we can assist with your claim. You can notify us of an injury via email, fax or by posting the claim form to us.
How to lodge a claim
Firstly, have your injured employee complete the first two pages of the Workers’ Compensation Claim Form and submit it to you with their medical certificate as soon as possible. You must then complete the third page of the claim form and lodge it with CCI within three working days.
What to do after an injury has occurred
Investigate the incident and implement changes and forward a copy to CCI. This is to ensure that similar injuries can’t happen again and make those improvements part of your organisation’s WHS procedures.
If injured workers cannot immediately return to their usual duties, find them duties they can manage while recuperating. Staying involved in the workplace can often aid the recovery process.
