A promise of Collective Kindness

Collective Kindness launches Matched Grants

The CCI workplace giving program, Collective Kindness, demonstrates a compassion for communities who need help. Donations to this program are matched by CCI Giving through the matched grants program, doubling the impact of this program. In addition, donations provide flexibility for social welfare advocates who need to manage complexity and respond to emerging needs of their community. For this reason, there is also a promise of trust extended to recipients, with funds untethered to a specific project.

Following two successful years of the inaugural program, CCI recently reviewed Collective Kindness to ensure it continued to reflect the giving attitudes of employees. This review culminated in a vote for updated charity partners, with the promise of support through staff payroll giving, various fundraising activities and matched grants from CCI Giving, benefiting the four non-profits in 2023 and beyond.
Like other charities whose aim is to make a positive difference for communities experiencing hardship, these partners rely on benefactors and individual goodwill to sustain their work.

Wellsprings for Women is an existing Collective Kindness partner once again chosen for further funding. They give specialist support to women from migrant and asylum-seeking backgrounds and are one of very few agencies with the expertise to support women experiencing family violence who remain in the relationship. Vital material aid and emergency relief underpins safety planning, case management, and emotional support. They also assist women experiencing poverty and homelessness and whose wellbeing is challenged by declining mental health and isolation.

The Jesuit Social Services work with men and boys who engage in high-risk behaviour that can result in suicide, drug overdoses, and accident fatalities. The Men’s Project delivers programs and workshops with role models who advocate respectful, accountable living and safety in the community. The Jesuits’ Project has a significant focus on addressing violence against women and children. The Men’s Program seeks male-dominated workplaces and engages schools, local councils, and community groups. Some of the learning is designed for staff among this cohort to promote education and awareness of habits and preconception that relate to masculinity.

Paw Pals Animal Assisted Education is a MacKillop Family Services program helping disengaged students to have positive learning experiences. Paw Pals builds confidence and improves learning in an academic environment with trained therapy dogs. Staff are skilled in working within a trauma impact framework and aim to improve student self-regulation and behaviour management.

Warrior Woman Foundation delivers the Young Warrior Woman Program helping women aged 17 to 25 years who do not have family or community support in their lives, with particular attention to those having recently left out-of-home care. Transitioning from adolescence to adulthood is especially hard for those without a support network. The Program has group and individual mentoring and gives educational emphasis to financial literacy and job readiness.

Lauren Clair is the CCI Giving Foundation Program Manager and understands the significant impact of collaboration between like-minded staff, charities, and community participation.

“I feel enormously proud by what CCI contributes to the commitment of these four partners who continue to undertake essential and demanding tasks each day, in the service of creating a safer, healthier, and more resilient society. There is always hope if there is a shared acknowledgment of need.”

Lauren Clair, CCI Giving Foundation Program Manager

In addition to matching staff contributions, CCI Giving welcomes donations from the community, via this donation page. All contributions received through this channel (within limits) are matched dollar-for-dollar by CCI Giving before being distributed to the new charity partners. AND FROM NOW UNTIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER 2023, DONATIONS TO OUR CHARITY PARTNERS WILL BE DOUBLE-MATCHED BY CCI GIVING.
